Pre-Operative Lab Testing in South Florida
If your surgeon or surgical facility handed you a list of blood work to complete before your procedure, Pink Mobile Labs & Diagnostics can collect it where you are — home, office, hotel, or recovery residence — anywhere in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County, and transport the specimens to the processing laboratory.
Pre-op labs are individualized
There is no universal pre-operative panel. Published guidance is that pre-operative testing should be guided by clinical history, examination, perioperative risk, and clinician judgment — not ordered indiscriminately for everyone.
In practice, that means your list comes from your surgeon, anesthesia team, or facility, shaped by your history and the planned procedure. Send us that list and we build the collection around it.
Testing commonly requested before surgery
The following are examples of tests surgeons and facilities sometimes request. They are listed for education only — not everyone needs all of them, and we collect what has been ordered or is clinically indicated.
Complete blood count (CBC)
Evaluates red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Frequently requested before procedures, but ordered based on your history and your surgeon's protocol.
Comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP)
Assesses kidney and liver measures and electrolyte balance. Requested when clinically indicated or specified on a surgeon's checklist.
Coagulation studies (PT/INR)
Prothrombin time and INR relate to how blood clots. Commonly requested for patients on certain medications or with a relevant history — not for everyone.
HIV screening
Some surgical facilities include infectious disease screening in their pre-operative requirements. Collected when ordered.
Urinalysis (UA)
A urine specimen evaluation, requested by some facilities or when clinically indicated before a procedure.
Pregnancy testing (HCG)
Requested where appropriate and where required by the surgeon, anesthesia team, or facility protocol before a procedure.
How the specimen workflow works

Get the order from your surgeon
Pre-operative laboratory testing is driven by your surgeon's, anesthesia team's, or facility's written orders. Ask for the checklist or requisition and send it to us.

Schedule the collection
Request an appointment online or call 754-300-9290. Tell us your procedure date so timing can be planned backwards from it.

Mobile specimen collection
A trained phlebotomist performs the draw at your home, office, hotel, or recovery residence, labeling specimens at the point of collection.

Transport and laboratory processing
Specimens are transported to the processing laboratory, which performs the analysis and releases the results.

Results, review, and coordination
Most test results are available within 24–72 hours, depending on the test and laboratory. Results are released to you and, where you direct us, to your surgeon or surgical coordinator.

How to prepare
- Confirm with the ordering clinician whether any of your tests require fasting
- Hydrate normally beforehand unless you were instructed otherwise
- Have the requisition or clearance checklist available at the appointment
- Bring your medication and supplement list, including doses
- Have photo identification ready
- Know the name and contact details of the coordinator who needs to receive results
Results timing and coordination
Most test results are available within 24–72 hours, depending on the test and laboratory.
Because turnaround varies by test and laboratory, we do not promise a single universal timeframe. Tell us your surgical date when you book so the appointment leaves room for results to return, be reviewed, and for any additional testing your surgeon may request. If your date is imminent, see time-sensitive pre-op services.
