    Pre-Operative Evaluation

Cosmetic Surgery Medical Clearance in South Florida

Plastic and cosmetic surgery practices across South Florida commonly ask patients to complete a pre-operative evaluation and specific testing before a procedure date. Pink Mobile Labs & Diagnostics coordinates that testing around your surgeon's written checklist — at your home, hotel, or office in Miami-Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach County.

    Start your cosmetic surgery clearance

What clearance does — and does not — mean

Medical clearance for a cosmetic procedure is a pre-operative medical evaluation: an assessment intended to help identify and communicate perioperative risk and to complete the testing your surgical team requested.

Completing testing does not guarantee that your surgery will take place and does not make a procedure safe. The final decision belongs to your surgeon, the anesthesia team, and the surgical facility. The broader process is described on our medical clearance page.

Requirements vary by surgeon and facility

There is no single national checklist for cosmetic surgery clearance. Two patients having similar procedures with different surgeons can be asked for different testing, because requirements are shaped by the practice's protocol, the anesthesia plan, the facility, the planned procedure, and your own medical history.

That is why the first step is always the same: get the requirements in writing from your surgeon or their surgical coordinator, and send them to us. We build the visit around that document rather than a generic package.

    Components commonly requested

    • Pre-operative laboratory testing when ordered — see pre-op labs for detail
    • A 12-lead EKG when ordered or clinically indicated
    • Chest X-ray when specifically ordered by your surgeon or facility
    • Clinical history review and examination as appropriate to the requested evaluation
    • Documentation prepared and released to the surgeon, coordinator, or facility you designate

Detail on each component: pre-operative lab testing, mobile EKG, mobile X-ray, and mobile blood draw.

    How the process works

    1. 1

      Collect your surgeon's written requirements

Your surgeon, their surgical coordinator, the anesthesia team, or the facility defines what is required. Ask for the clearance form or checklist in writing — requirements differ from practice to practice.

    2. 2

Send us the checklist and your procedure date

Share it when you request an appointment or call 754-300-9290. The date of your procedure drives how the visit is scheduled.

    3. 3

Clinical history and examination as applicable

A licensed clinician reviews your medical history, medications, and relevant symptoms and performs an examination as appropriate to the requested evaluation.

    4. 4

Complete the ordered testing at your location

Blood draws, a 12-lead EKG, and chest X-ray are performed or coordinated when ordered or clinically indicated — at your home, hotel, or office. Not every patient needs every test.

    5. 5

      Results return and are reviewed

Specimens go to the laboratory and imaging is interpreted by a radiologist. Most test results are available within 24–72 hours, depending on the test and laboratory.

    6. 6

Documentation goes to your surgical team

Completed documentation and results are provided to you and, where you direct us, to your surgeon, coordinator, or facility. They make the final decision about whether and how your procedure proceeds.

Traveling to South Florida for surgery

Many cosmetic surgery patients travel to Miami and greater South Florida for their procedure. Because appointments happen where you are staying, clearance testing can be completed at a hotel, short-term rental, or recovery residence without adding another trip to an already tight itinerary.

    Documents to have ready

    • The clearance form, order sheet, or written checklist from your surgeon or facility
    • The name, phone number, and email of the surgical coordinator receiving the paperwork
    • Your procedure type and scheduled date
    • A current list of all medications and supplements, including doses
    • Medical history: prior surgeries, known conditions, anesthesia history, allergies
    • Government-issued photo identification
    • Any recent labs, EKG, or imaging you already have

    Planning and timing

Most test results are available within 24–72 hours, depending on the test and laboratory.

Book far enough ahead that results can return, be reviewed, and leave room for any follow-up testing your surgeon requests before their deadline. We cannot promise a specific date on which documentation will be finalized, because that depends on the tests ordered, laboratory timelines, and the receiving surgeon or facility. If your date is very close, read time-sensitive and STAT pre-op services and call us instead of booking online.
